As of the August 26 report from the National Integrated Drought Information System (NIDIS), 53% of Colorado is experiencing some level of drought. Current conditions include 11% in Moderate Drought, 13% in Severe Drought, 21% in Extreme Drought, and 7% in Exceptional Drought. An additional 13% of the state is classified as Abnormally Dry. The map above reflects drought conditions as of August 26.

As of August 25, cumulative precipitation in the Colorado River watershed was tracking at 94% of average and the South Platte River watershed was tracking at 79% of average.

Denver Water’s Annual Summer Watering Rules are in effect until October 1.

Denver Water’s supply reservoir contents as of August 25 are represented in the table below. Reservoir totals are 88% full and were 93% full this time last year.
