Last week, district staff had the opportunity to attend the South Metro Denver Water Tour. The event was co-hosted by the One World One Water Center at Metro State University, Denver Botanic Gardens, and the Water ’22 campaign.
The day-long bus tour included a behind-the-scenes look at the history and operation of the Rueter-Hess and Chatfield Reservoirs. Staff enjoyed lunch provided by Parker Water & Sanitation on the overlook of the Rueter-Hess reservoir.
The tour also provided a first-hand look at waterwise landscapes and agricultural landscape practices at Sterling Ranch and Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms. The day concluded with a happy hour at Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms sponsored by the Water ’22 campaign.
Thank you to all the sponsors for a fun-filled day of learning about progressive practices of protecting and conserving Colorado water!
