Fall Lawn Care

Following the tips below can prevent your lawn from getting strained during the coldest months ahead and help it reemerge healthy and lush in the springtime.

Keep Mowing – Grass doesn’t stop growing until it frosts over. Regular mowing helps the turf stay healthier. The ideal height for growing turf in Colorado is about 2 ½ to 3 inches.

Cover Your Flush

The district uses best practices to maintain sewer systems and lessen the risk of a blockage. This includes video and physical inspections, the use of root treatment chemicals, and regular cleaning. But it is up to the homeowner to protect their sewer line.

Closed for Labor Day

The District office will be closed on Monday, September 2 for Labor Day.

If you have urgent business with the district on this day, please call the main number at 303-979-2333. The on-call staff person will respond to your request as soon as possible.

Keep Wipes out of the Pipes!

Protect your pipes! Never flush wipes, feminine hygiene products, dental floss, cotton swabs, or anything other than the 3 Ps: Pee, Poop, & Toilet Paper.

Flushing these products can also harm sewer and wastewater treatment systems, clogging equipment and leading to environmental damage and higher sewer rates.

August is National Water Quality Month

National Water Quality Month reminds us how vital our drinking water is and how we can all play a role in protecting it. Knowing where your water comes from makes it easier to appreciate the quality of your local waterways, and can motivate you and your community to keep these water sources as clean as possible. By incorporating any or all of the following actions into your life, you can rest easy knowing that you’re helping to ensure that clean drinking water is readily available for everyone for years to come!

Beat the Heat! Stay Hydrated!

It is crucial to stay hydrated while performing physical activity in extreme heat and especially at high altitudes.

Heat exhaustion can occur as a combined result of a rising internal temperature and dehydration. Symptoms include nausea, dizziness, muscle cramps, feeling faint, headache, fatigue, and heavy sweating. Heat exhaustion is a serious condition because without early recognition and treatment, it can quickly progress to heat stroke.
