Summer Watering Rules End, Severe Drought Continues

Prep Your Pipes for Freezing Temps
Colorado weather can go from one extreme to the other at the drop of a hat. It's hard to know for sure what to expect in the following weeks, but it's always best to plan ahead and start prepping your home's plumbing for plunging temperatures.

Gross Reservoir Expansion Update
Denver Water attained final federal approval for their Gross Reservoir Expansion Project in mid-July.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission ordered Denver Water to proceed with design and construction to expand Gross Reservoir in Boulder County, which involves raising the dam an additional 131 feet. This will increase the capacity of the reservoir by 77,000 acre-feet and provide an additional 25 billion gallons of water storage.

The District would like to recognize its operators for their diligent work maintaining and repairing our water and sanitation infrastructure during a difficult time. District customers continue to receive safe and reliable water distribution throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
District operators are responsible for the operation and maintenance of water distribution and wastewater collection infrastructure as well as all buildings, vehicles and all supporting facilities owned by the District.
