100% of Colorado Remains in a Drought

Water year 2020 (10/1/19 - 9/31/20) started out promising with plentiful snowfall last winter and spring, but with the typical monsoon season nearly nonexistent, the state has been left in a severe drought.

Prep Your Pipes for Freezing Temps

Colorado weather can go from one extreme to the other at the drop of a hat. It's hard to know for sure what to expect in the following weeks, but it's always best to plan ahead and start prepping your home's plumbing for plunging temperatures.

Gross Reservoir Expansion Update

Denver Water attained final federal approval for their Gross Reservoir Expansion Project in mid-July.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission ordered Denver Water to proceed with design and construction to expand Gross Reservoir in Boulder County, which involves raising the dam an additional 131 feet. This will increase the capacity of the reservoir by 77,000 acre-feet and provide an additional 25 billion gallons of water storage.
